Terrific! And I can so relate. Liquor may be quicker for some but for me, candy is most dandy. Happy Mute Monday!

Fishy -
I very much enjoy your addiction as well! In fact, I am enjoying it at this very moment in the form of wonderfully delicious skittles. Happy MM!

I used to chew sugar cane my dad cut from the fields on the side of the road.
I'm still addicted.
Sweet black coffee next to the keyboard.

A tough one to break.

Great post -- i've been waiting to see if someone posted chocolate, which I almost did!

I have a friend who calls sugar "White Death". Who cares! As Moi said, "candy is dandy".

Nicely edited group of pictures, you told a great story.

Happy MM!

Wow. Before I read your comment I was going to mention what hard nasty work it is. GMTA. Great pics.

Happy Mute Monday!

Moi,
This is an addiction I can probably moderate but never break.

Kmwthay,
Skittles? have you never heard of Dove dark chocolates with almonds?

GBT,
I won't even try to break this one!
Hot tea by my keyboard with sugar and halfnhalf....don't have any of those sweet valentine sugar cookies though.

On the side of the road sugar cane experience...I've had that one. Actually, maybe in about 7th grade, I went on a field trip to a cane plantation but mostly what I remember from that outing was running from snakes! Seems like they like their sugar too.

JJ,
You take sugar in your Java? Glad you like the journey from cane to cookie.

pamokc,
You and me both! I was sure someone would do chocolate both because it is a BIG addiction and also because of the proximity to St. Valentine's Day.

Since I was trying to avoid the MM blogger jinx I moved from cacao to cane.

Happy Monday, Mute or otherwise!

K9....uh...I don't think you can actually grow sugar cane in the North Jawja mountains....maybe sugar beets...the kind they use to make real red velvet cakes?

I'm so sorry I missed this post Fishy. I did check right up to Tuesday morning here but of course that was probably still Monday there. The time difference between me and everyone else is very annoying sometimes.

Anyway back to your post. I'd like to admit that I have a sweet tooth but the truth is I just love food full stop. I think most of us entertained the idea of chocolate but didn't for fear of doubling up and nobody ended up doing it. How funny.

I went to Fiji when I was a young Gypsy and I can still smell the sugar cane burning. A very sweet cloying smell I didn't particularly like but I sure do like how it ends up.

PS Thanks for your comment on Romany Angel the other day. I appreciated your thoughts :)
