i can't wait to visit palenque. its in guatemala right? i love the forested environment. you know there is a scene in star wars with a shot of the rebel spacecraft flying away from palenque. happy MM!!

I love historical sites but obviously we don't have anything anywhere near as old as this in Australia. What a brilliant place to visit and thanks for sharing it with us.

Palenque is in the Chiapas district of Mexico. A really fabulous Mayan archaeological site.
I think it would make a great location for a bloggers Day of the Dead party!

For all you wonderful gardening bloggers, this was the Mayans most successful ancient city cause the environment is perfect for growing food and flowers. Their art depicts lots of flowering plants, well organized communal gardens and the importance of the land to the man!
