Those are quite a lot of destinations and if you're a travel agency, they're classic. I've been to the San Francisco ones (except the conservatory) but that's about it. I've got to get out more.

Happy MM!

I love these! Wonderful artwork. Travel posters? I think they are not but could be. Happy MM!

Really intersting how they colored those. Most of those places are on the boycott list, but what the heck.

Happy Mute Monday!

Buzz,
Well, they are not actually travel posters, but they certainly could be. Or puzzles. Do you have a list of destinations you have yet to visit? More a case of classic wishes than classic experiences?

Aunty Belle,
Jackson Square is a very classic destination ... right after I go there I will go cross the road to Cafe DuMonde for some classic beingets.

Morning Pam,
Do you travel much? Which cities would you list as "Classic" destinations? I left out several due to limiting selections to those available from just one artist.
As to the art, it does evoke that sense of joy and energy associated with travel and vacations. And if you are , like my siblings say of me, not a "real" grown-up, then you probably also enjoy all that exhuberant, child like color!

Troll,
Did you enlarge the image of South Beach? There are gators in the streets .... the 4 legged kind. Does a Troll have a list of classic destinations on a to see list? I endeavored to include a fine selection of bridges just for you and did you notice I put in Worth Avenue for Moi, Notre Dame for Aunty, NY for Blowfish, Yosemite for K9 and Boxer to hike, just to name a few associations?

Happy Mute Monday Kym,
They are cheerful are they not? The artist is Alexander Chen. I know about his work because I
have used it in a pediatricians office. Works for all ethnicities, religions, ages. It is bright, cheerful, colorful. Little kids can use the art as a search game, counting games, geography lessons etc. I think of it as interactive art like the work of Graeme Base or the Where's Waldo series. When you enlarge the images there is lots to see, the architecture is almost always correct and there is lots of humor painted into each piece.
Whew! Now that the art review is concluded, which classic destination is on the top of your list?

Santa Fe! Never heard of the artist but I like this wonderfully frantic, cartoony quality. Very original, Fishy. Happy Mute Monday!

I enlarged it but missed the gators and dogs the first time. Lots of detail. Would like to see these in person.

Good afternoon Fishy,

How neet, I'd like to see what he'd do with Washington DC. Of course that's a pretty seedy destination.

Happy Mute Monday

are these postcards or prints? I love them. The colors are vibrant and makes me want to leave my desk and drive to the airport.

Happy MM!

Moi,
Glad you came by to enjoy the frantic, cartoony, coloful destinations.

Troll,
did you find the grand piano on Worth avenue too?

Karl,
You can, he has done several painting s of the Washington area.

Boxer,
I thought you WERE scheduled to abandon your desk and head for the airport. These are the works of Alexander Chen and I think prints and posters of some of his paintings are available via multiple sources. I too find myself responding to the exuberance and joy of this work. Oddly enough, if you see the video of Mr. Chen, you would never suspect joy in his spirit.

K9,
Busiest? Have you never seen the art of Charles Wysocki? Richard Scarry? Graheme Base? If you have not enlarged some of these images, please do, there is much humor buried within.

I am proud to be able to make you a gift of the great outdoors.
