The JOY of Winning

Joyful spirits
Joyful visions
Joyful noises
Joyful grannies
Joyful cooks
Joyful smells
Joyful moments
Joyful experiences
Joyful comforts
Joyful  waters

Whew!
There was a whole lot of joy  going on  around here!
Blowfish and I have enjoyed all the entries. Thank you!

For those of you playing as "anonymous"  .... we embraced your entries!
We also encourage you to create a blog, it's easy and can be anonymous.
Welcome GJ4  with your Bach inspired classic. One of our faves.

Boxer caught our attention quick, fast and in a hurry !
Has anyone NOT experienced the joy of solitude?
This entry made  it to the top three in the first reading.

Karl did a grand job of linking the joy of nature with the joy of love.
An instant top contender with Blowfish who allowed,
"Huh, this fella  understands joy is everywhere"

Serendipity  was a Pond favorite because that  moment of
knowing you captured the photograph is joyful indeed.

Foamy moved up the leader board on Blowfish's page because

he relates to the real joy of being a parent until one of them eats
the last of the ice cream!

Aunty had Blowfish bobbing his head like a dashboard toy. Oh yea! Oh yea!
We do hold the letters till we can hold the real thing. Then too, it being Halloween and all,
we liked the idea of a presence too.

All of these haikus did a masterful job of sharing the joy.
Sharing the emotion with depth, with humor, with solace.
Ultimately there can be only one declared winner and for us
it could only be: TROLL

An ancient Pond's song
Jeremiah the bullfrog
8-track memory

Joyful and brilliant
 and ,
 it brought this too ...
joy to you and me !

Perfect
Congratulations Troll

I had it neck and neck between Boxer, Troll, and Karl. Congrats, Troll!

Congrats Trolly -- that was a multi-layered music homage which I truly appreciated! Brilliant haiku.

P.S. Fishy, did you count the word "joy" as one syllable or two? I had a hard time deciding and ultimately went with one.

WhooHoo! My first win! Thanks Fishes!

I need to think up a topic and a judging strategy.

@TROLL,

I HAVE A TOPIC SUGGESTION.

@Troll: Your first win? That's hard to believe. You need to stop posting winners when you're hosting, because I know I've read quite a few winners from you before now. Congratulations.

Boxer,
sooooooooo close. GREAT job this week. Hope you did indeed have a joyful personal weekend.

Moi,
Thanks for the backup! It is getting to be quite a harrowing challenge to be the Monday judge.

Chickory,
Well ... Troll is the current day "Haiku Master" and seriously, I thought Boxer's was perfect.

Aunty,
Your "try" was awesome. Gave me images of a southern belle drifting about the gardens in her batiste re-reading letters and yearning.....

Pam,
We ALL are so happy for your new GrandJOY! One syllable, rhymes with boy.

Troll,
Well deserved and maybe even overdue. However, I almost gave you deductions because Jeremiah is still repeating, repeating, repeating.....

I get the need to think up a topic but a " judging strategy?"

Czar,
We will all have to be on our game next week because he is one very fierce haiku judging Troll.

Foam,
I think they make AppleBeer in Salt Lake City ...seems like it was a vintage German tradition.
So glad you played this week and oh what a horrifying visual! They must look like their dad huh?

Thanks all for a good game!

Good evening Fishy,

Thank you, for the honorable mention. And thank you and Blowfish for hosting. Joy is a great topic, with the right perspective you can find it anywhere.

Congratulations Troll! You had a fine ride to pull into the winner circle.

Wonderful & joyful! Very good week again with a very inspiring theme!

Fishy, could you please tell me which work of Bach you thought GJ4 referred to? I thought it was Beethoven's ninth!

Can't wait for Master Troll's party next Monday!
See y'all
Jon

I think that Ghost of the Deep Blue is correct:Beethoven 9th
Ode to Joy

Hi Fishy,

Greetings to you and Blowfish. One of your anons now has a very rudimentary site. On it is the inspiration for "Serendipity" (with a tad of poetic license). There is also a photo for Aunty Belle to show Uncle.

Congrats to Troll on the win!

Well ding dang, look at Troll shining so bright in his big boy superstar pants!!! (is that a seam I see bursting?) HaHa!!

Wonderful haiku Troll...I LOVED IT!!!

Rafa

P.S. what's an 8-track? Is that anything like the 6-pack I do a bit of my laundry on?

Fleurdeleo said...

Congratulations to the Troll! Very evocative haiku. I remember well the 8-track era...poor Rafa has missed out!

Those of us with a non-Google blog can't participate on Troll's blog site. It only takes entries from Google accounts. See ya' some other week.

Oh-oh
my musical ignorance is showing.
When music is coupled with "joy" I always hear Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring playing in my head ..... but looks like I keyed into the wrong number.
