Aunty Belle...you do need an infusion of happy following the BIG BAD BRUTAL BOTHERSOM subjects on your posting. To tell ya fer truf...I'se a bit surprised ya didn't call me out on the tossed church sculpture! Again...how in Heaven's name did the artist get funds for this public sculpture?
I got a question...would ya'll walk under than giant spider sculpture straddling the sidewalk or would you go around? Would you sit with the Octopus along the bay or stare into those gazing eyeballs?
Troll, The BIG blue bear sculpture is 40' tall constructed of a steel frame with a composite cement and fiberglas finish. The name of the sculpture is "I see what you mean" and is at the Colorado Convention Center. Artist is Lawrence Argent and there is a video on the installation process....just type "big blue bear sculpture" into your search engine and there are multiple video choices from which to choose.

I really like the horse sculpture as I have seen one of this series ... they are brilliantly constructed from driftwood found along the beaches.... made me yearn to win a really big lottery so I could have one of my own...sigh!
I'm with Mr Troll...I loved that Bear and I also liked the horses heads (mosaics I think). Some of them were just bizarre and some quite frightening....not fond of spiders Im afraid, not even giant fake ones :)

Pics #2, 5 and 20 are fish. I bet ATL has some great public art...but silly me...I tried t stay away from the known.
