    i remember betsy mccall!!! i would take any of these outfits over gretchs dreck. walmart is trying to open in manhattan. its a battle. LOL

    Hey, I had Betsy McCall! I also used to make my own paper dolls. I wonder if little girls still do that . . .

    We can hope!
    I too made paper dolls and because our mother made amazing doll clothes, it wasn't long before I was encouraged to try my hand at designing my own wardrobes for Betsy and friends.

    There is something wonderful to be said for a mother who made sure there were always art/creative supplies in our home and an encouraging voice to help us explore.

    I pray this form of nurturing what lies within still happens in families.
